What we collect

SQL Easy is a free, static website. There are no accounts, no logins and no payment forms, so there is very little to collect in the first place.

  • Anonymous page analytics. We use Fathom Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not store personal information. It tells us things like how many people visited a lesson, not who they were.
  • Your email address, only if you give it to us. Some pages offer to send you SQL tips by email. If you type in your address and submit it, we store it so we can send those emails. You can skip the form, and you can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send.

We do not run ads, we do not use retargeting or tracking pixels, and we never sell or share personal information with data brokers or advertisers.

What stays in your browser

The interactive lessons work entirely in your browser. To make that pleasant, the site keeps a small amount of data on your own device:

  • Lesson progress (localStorage). Which exercises you have completed and the last query you wrote for each one, so you can pick up where you left off. This never leaves your browser. You can wipe it with the "Reset progress" button on the lessons page.
  • One cookie. After you dismiss or complete the email sign-up prompt, we set a single first-party cookie so we do not show it to you again. It contains no personal information.

Third parties

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and the Bootstrap stylesheet from the jsDelivr CDN. Those services receive your IP address as part of serving the files, as any web request does. We do not load any advertising or social-media scripts.

Managing cookies and site data

You can delete the cookie and the saved lesson progress at any time through your browser's settings (usually under "Privacy", "Site data" or "Clear browsing data"). Blocking cookies does not break the lessons; it only means the email prompt may appear again.
